Mirko Eßer Appointed New Director of Finance at RenderThat

He will build up the finance department and play a key role in shaping the transformation of the 3D agency.

    RenderThat's Director Finance, Mikro Eßer

RenderThat has appointed a Director of Finance for the first time. With Mirko Eßer, the aspiring Hamburg-based digital agency has secured a top-tier expert for this newly created position. Eßer brings years of leadership experience and controlling expertise. He will be responsible for building up the finance department and playing a key role in shaping the agency's transformation.

"Digital twins"—this concept of transferring physical products into the digital world is RenderThat's core offering. Just a few weeks ago, the agency opened a location in New York City. To successfully drive internationalization and expansion, the position of Director of Finance was advertised for the first time.

With the addition of Mirko Eßer, RenderThat is making a strong statement. As Director of Finance, Eßer will leverage his years of leadership experience at MHP – A Porsche Company and Accenture Strategy. Most recently, Eßer spent two years as Senior Manager Finance Performance & Strategy at MHP. Prior to that, he spent five years as a Strategy Manager, driving the Digital Finance sector at Accenture Strategy.

As Director of Finance at RenderThat, the business graduate will now oversee the transformation from a digital agency to a tech company in the SaaS and CaaS (Content-as-a-Service) sectors. The focus will be on both internationalization and the further development of the RenderThat Hub. The Hub is a platform that allows RenderThat clients to scale their visualized content flexibly and independently of location. Mirko Eßer will be responsible for creating the framework for this, improving controlling, and supporting RenderThat with structured decision-making processes.

During the selection process, the experienced financial expert convinced RenderThat CEO David Wischniewski not only with his impressive resume but also with his personality:

"Mirko is an absolute top new addition for RenderThat. His move clearly shows the level our company has reached. With Mirko, we gain an experienced professional who is not only a true leader but also brings exactly what we at RenderThat stand for with his personable, hands-on approach: a can-do attitude. Be bold. Do. Grow. I'm very much looking forward to working with him."

The new arrival himself is looking forward to the new challenge and the freedom he will have at RenderThat:

"After successful years, RenderThat is at an exciting point that allows for significant growth and creative freedom. I am excited to take on this challenge and position RenderThat for the future with a great team. With digital solutions, we want to establish the finance function as an integrated and advisory area for the entire organization – a success factor for sustainable growth."

    About RenderThat

RenderThat started in 2012 as a digital agency in Aachen and is now on its way to becoming an international SAAS company. The agency's core business is visualizations using CGI, particularly "digital twins." RenderThat specialists develop digital representations of physical products. Once digitized, a wide range of product presentation possibilities open up, which can sometimes massively reduce marketing effort and costs. With the digital twin as a basis, RenderThat offers its customers flexible content options in the areas of automation, virtual reality, augmented reality, digital trade fairs, product configurators, as well as product images and videos. The next major development step is the RenderThat Hub – a platform that allows customers to manage and scale their content more easily and collaborate comfortably from anywhere in the world via interfaces.

RenderThat's clients include Beyerdynamic, Duravit, Schlaraffia, Hilding Anders, Bosch Siemens Home Appliances, and BMW. At its locations in Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Munich, and recently New York City, the company employs over 130 people from more than 30 countries.
