    While we visualize about one million product images monthly on computers for various clients, there is another industry, the film industry, that increasingly relies on CGI. But how large is the share of computer-generated films from Hollywood, and does it positively impact revenue? We investigated this question, analyzing 7,388 films from the last ten years and determining their revenues and production costs.

    Since most animated films are Hollywood productions, the results differentiate between the USA and the rest of the world. In this study, CGI (Computer-generated Imagery) also includes 3D and animated films, as these are also created on computers.
